Finnish weightlifter Janette Ylisoini secured the European championship title with youth European records

At the end of the fifth competition day of the European Championship, medals were contested in the women’s 77 kg weight category, where Georgia was represented by Nana Khorava. The Georgian athlete lifted 109 kg in the snatch and, falling just one kilogram short of the podium, placed fourth. In the clean and jerk, she managed 127 kg, which put her in seventh place. As for the total (236), she finished in fifth place. The title was claimed by Finland’s Janette Ylisoini, who won gold in the snatch with a European youth record (113). She took silver in the clean and jerk (134), and also secured the championship in the total with another European youth record (247). A European youth record (136) in the clean and jerk was also set by Armenian weightlifter Anna Amroyan, although she did not win a medal overall. With a total of 244, the silver medal was won by Individual Neutral Athlete Varvara Kuzminova, who advanced to a prize position from Group B. The third place went to Ukraine’s Iryna Dombrovska (243).
